Dau Go Cave Overview
Dau Go Cave, located on Dau Go Island in Halong Bay, is a breathtaking natural wonder and a key highlight of Halong Bay trips. Just 6 km from Bai Chay Harbour, this cave is celebrated for its stunning beauty and intriguing formations.
Formed over two million years ago, Dau Go Cave features an impressive entrance and expansive interiors filled with captivating stalactites and stalagmites. The name “Dau Go,” meaning “Wooden Stakes,” highlights its historical significance linked to the Mongol invasions of the 13th century.
Inside, visitors are greeted by an extraordinary display of nature’s artistry, resembling a grand painter’s canvas. Recognized in the 1938 travel book Merveille de Monde as the “Cave of Wonders,” Dau Go consists of three main chambers, each offering a unique and enchanting experience.
When planning your Halong Bay trips, be sure to include Dau Go Cave by choosing reputable cruises such as Au Co or Bhaya Legend. You can also explore the pristine beauty of nearby Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long.
