Vietnam – Getting to know Phan Thiet & Mui Ne
About 125 miles north of Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne is a pleasant fishing port that’s home to a community of itinerant fishermen between the months of July and October, as well as its year-round local population. The town is famous for producing some of the best fish sauce in Vietnam (and that’s saying something!), as well as being surrounded by large red sand dunes. In the early morning, the port is a hive of activity, as fisherman land their night’s catch and the locals make their way to the quay to buy the freshest fish.
Vietnam Phan Thiet & Mui Ne Travel Guide
What to do in Mui Ne
For many visitors the real attraction here is the nearby Mui Ne Peninsula and its 7 miles of shallow sandy beaches, which run from the port of Mui Ne to the more industrial town of Phan Thiet.
At the end of the peninsula are stunning sand dunes that offer commanding views down the coast. Here, a growing number of kite and wind surfers have discovered the very favourable conditions for their passion!
‘Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is home to some of the very finest beaches in Vietnam. There are a range of excellent hotel and resort options on the beach with something to suite every budget.’
